Dick Atkins, on the left, was instrumental in taking this project from a stray thought at 35,000 feet over the Atlantic, to cold, hard bronze. His experience in having managed several memorial plaque projects (primarily for the Scouting Force) was indispensible to this project. Dick guided every step of the development, from artist's conception, thru layout and the numerous foundry proofs, to the fine-looking plaque we see today. In addition, his industry contacts lowered the cost dramatically, thereby making my fund-raising job that much easier. For all of this and more, my thanks go out to Dick Atkins. The other guy is me. |
