Bill Sikes, left, (A/C 42-29952) and Verl Fisher (A/C 42-30650 and 42-3195) at the 2003 305th BG reunion. Fisher trained under Sikes as CP, then was made pilot upon the crew's arrival at Chelveston. Despite all of their training as pilot and copilot, Sikes and Fisher never flew a combat mission together. As of February 2006, Sikes enjoys reasonably good health and lives with his wife Gretha in Casper, WY. Fisher lives in Georgia and is in reasonably good health. He is fighting back problems originally received when having bailed out of 42-3195 on 10/14/43. |
