My father, Wren M. Frith, served in the 563rd Squadron from November 4, 1944 to April 3, 1945, as a ball turret gunner in the crew of pilot Henry Gregorich.
Barry Schmidt - 21 Aug 2006: Virgil "Shorty" Schlote passed away on 18 Aug 06. His burial will be on 22 Aug 06 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Ellisville, MO. He will be buried next to his wife on the church gounds. If interested, you may contact me, his son in law and an Air Force veteran, at barschmidt@peoplepc.com. Shorty was very proud of his association with this great organization.
